It’s funny what you see at the airport at 5am. Free samples and travellers all too eager to taste the wares of duty free shops. Whisky, is no different. Ardbeg had a nice wee stand at Edinburgh Airport recently, with offerings of their staple malt and what took my eye immediately were these cans of water that were used to douse the ferocious flames of the Islay malt. A very nice item.
The other aspect I enjoy is watching the reactions of those unaware of the powerful malt sensation in their hands. The faces in particular can be hilarious. This is Ardbeg after all, and is best enjoyed at the end of the day. If I was to have Ardbeg drams at 5am, my breakfast, lunch and possibly dinner, would taste very different.
